Trotin’ Through Turkey

Turkey, founded in 1913, is a small and charming town located between Clinton and Warsaw. It’s a quiet place full of hidden treasures, with local shops, family farms, and colorful barn quilts that show off the area’s country roots. Whether you’re shopping or just taking in the views, Turkey is a great spot to explore.

  1. Elizabeth Pecans

Nestled in the small town of Turkey, North Carolina, Elizabeth Pecans is a sweet success story rooted in tradition. It all began in 1981 when Captain Bobby F. Bundy, U.S. Navy, founded Capt’n Bundy’s Pecan Farm. His dedication to growing quality pecans led to the launch of B&B Pecan Processors of NC, which now supplies fresh pecans to over 140 major grocery chains, retail outlets, and fundraisers along the East Coast.

In 1998, the Bundy family introduced what would become a fan favorite: Elizabeth’s Exceptional Pecan Brittle—a soft, buttery twist on the classic treat. Since then, the line has grown to include 14 delicious pecan products, perfect for holiday gifts or a little indulgence anytime. With every bite, Elizabeth Pecans offers a taste of homegrown goodness and southern charm.

2. Wilders

Reid and Jaclyn Smith started Wilders with a simple goal: to support local farmers and makers while bringing high-quality, local products to their community. With a strong connection to their agricultural roots in Johnston County, North Carolina, they saw the need to protect small-town entrepreneurship and provide an outlet for locally sourced goods.

Today, Wilders is now known for its top-quality 100% fullblood Wagyu beef, raised sustainably on their family farm in eastern North Carolina. From Ribeye and New York strips to ground beef and variety boxes, Wilders delivers straight to customers who care about flavor and farming values. The farm also offers Berkshire pork and a growing line of Wilders-branded merchandise, including hats, t-shirts, and hoodies, giving people a way to show their support for local agriculture. Through every product, Wilders works to bring people closer to where their food comes from, and to each other.
