The Sampson County History Museum Village is the “Key to the Past”, highlighting the land and inhabitants of this area, since the 1700s. Founded in 1997, the Sampson County History Museum has grown from a single house, to a “village” of eleven buildings on a two acre campus. Some of the buildings are historic structures relocated from elsewhere in the county; 18th century log cabins, a Civil War-era farmhouse, and a 1920s general store. Other buildings are modern exhibit halls housing specific collections such as law enforcement, agriculture, sports, and our new state-of-the-art Military & Veterans Museum. At the Sampson County History Museum visitors are encouraged to explore pages from the past, as each building holds a unique “key to the past”…the perfect way for visitors to discover, learn, and reflect on the history of Sampson County! Admission is always free!
Your safety is our top priority. We are proud that the Sampson County History Museum has completed the Count On Me NC Training Program, a public health initiative that empowers guests and businesses to help keep everyone safe from COVID-19. Read more at www.countonmenc.org.
