On Thursday, June 16th, the CAT 5 Band will make their second appearance in the local concert series. The CAT 5 Band burst on the scene in June of 2019 and was formed from a trio of top East Coast Bands. Less than a year later in March of 2020 CAT 5 had to cancel almost two hundred concert dates from their 2020 schedule due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the shutdown did not stop them from winning the coveted Carolina Beach Music Association’s (CBMA) 2020 Cammy Award for New Artist of the year. Though performing a limited number of concerts, CAT 5 set the ball rolling with the release of their new song “The Beach and The Boulevard.”  It was this hit song that was the kick-start to their continued success. In 2021, the CAT 5 Band was nominated for ten Cammy Awards by the CBMA. Cat5 ended bringing home a total of five awards in only their second year of performing. Awards included the prestigious award for Group of the year, Smoothie of The Year for their remake of the popular song “Something Said Love”, Songwriter of The Year for “The Beach and The Boulevard” and Instrumentalist of the year for CAT 5 Drummer Camron Dudley. CAT5 consists of four individuals who bring a world of talent to the stage every time they perform. They are incredibly experienced at entertaining diverse crowds, and they find a way to make sure everyone has a great time, that they’re sure to remember for years to come.
