SUMMARY:2021 Alive After Five Concert Series (featuring BAND OF OZ)
DESCRIPTION:The Band of Oz was formed in 1967 as a part-time band playing fraternity parties and high school proms all over the South. In 1977 the band went on the road full time. Since that time the band has made an exceptional name for itself throughout the Southeast by playing the top clubs and corporate parties\, and getting excellent reviews along the way. For several years the group has been a guest on most of the major beach concerts in the Carolinas\, Virginia\, and Georgia. \nThe Band of Oz is one of the most successful groups in the Southeast\, and continues to get the very best reviews from the top people in the entertainment business. The band now features a full horn section to total a dynamic eight-member group. They still perform well over two-hundred shows per year for corporate events\, festivals\, concerts\, wedding receptions\, and many other public and private events.

From rock\, country\, beach\, funk\, rap\, current Top 40 hits\, and classic rock\, Spare Change is sure to play a favorite song of every person in attendance.  Comprised of five singers (including a female)\, a rapper\, a trumpet player\, and even an electric violinist\, their range and versatility is unmatched. \nSpare Change is famous for their ability to switch gears\, sounding like a Nashville country band one minute\, a funky groove band the next\, and an 80s hairband after that\, all with equal comfort and authenticity.  Choreographed dances\, audience participation\, and non-stop motion on stage help drive an energy level that will leave the crowd happily exhausted by the end of the night. Participants will meet at the Coharie Tribe’s Cultural Center near Clinton\, NC. River shuttle\, lunch and all activities are included. \nThe Great Coharie Creek has deep cultural significance to the Coharie people; and as a result\, they strive to protect and maintain access to this threatened river for recreation\, subsistence\, and cultural uses. With the goal of sharing their culture with discerning visitors\, and to explore river-based livelihoods for their youth\, Coharie people are now welcoming visitors in partnership with People First Tourism\, an organization affiliated with NC State University\, that helps travelers connect in deep and genuine ways with local communities. \nThe event will run rain or shine\, with activities adapted according to river and weather conditions. Purchase tickets at www.hubbsfarmnc.com/polar-express-movie-and-santa-too. \n$20 per person\, ages 2 to adult (under 2 free) \nTicket includes time with Santa\, “Polar Express” movie screening\, hot chocolate\, Hubb’s Express train ride\, and a jingle bell souvenir for all attendees. We will also provide campfires for cooking marshmallows\, s’mores and toe-warming (just not at the same time!). S’mores kits are available for purchase at the time of ticket purchase. Competition will begin at 2 with female contestants and the men’s competition will follow. Registration will begin online Sept. 15; fee is $35 through Oct. 31\, and $40 after Oct. 31. Registration includes Tough as a Farmer T-shirt\, competition\, and a Silver Pass. \n1st and 2nd place winners in the men’s and women’s divisions will win a prize. First place is $500\, and second place is $250. Rain date is Sunday\, November 3. \nAs fall comes to an end\, we’re going out with a SMASH! DESCRIPTION:Hay Bales and Hoofs Festival \nSeptember 21 and 22 \nSaturday: 12 p.m. – 7 p.m\nSunday: 1 p.m. – 6 p .m. \nJoin in the fun with tractor-pulled hayrides\, a miniature hay bale maze\, and a chance at fun challenges such as finding a “needle in a haystack”! \nOur Third Annual Hay Bale Decorating Contest will feature groups competing for prize money and farm passes by decorating bales that will remain on the farm all season long for visitors to view. \nAnd let’s not forget the hoofs — Enter our first Stick Pony “Rodeo” Fun Challenge at 4 p.m. This event is for all ages and will be held both Saturday and Sunday! \n
