All ages – wear overalls and get $1 off admission.

Going to the grocery store is easy, so we may not always think about the hard work that goes into growing our food. “Thank a Farmer” Ag Weekend is all about appreciating those who accept the responsibility of working the land and producing food for the world. Experience a bit of the farm life and see tractor displays from Sampson County’s Antique Tractor Club on Saturday from noon to 5 pm.

There will be a Little Miss Pumpkin Princess Pageant will be held Saturday, Oct. 5 at 4 pm, followed by the Farmer Boy Overalls Pageant. Join in the fun!

Come out on Sunday and see the Antique Tractor parade starting at 3 pm.

First Responders Weekend at Hubb’s

First Responders Weekend – October 11, 12 and 13

Sunday: 1 pm – 6 pm

First Responders receive 1 FREE Bronze Pass – must present appropriate ID. Families receive $2.00 off a pass.  Our First Responders Weekend honors those hometown heroes who often risk their lives to save others.  Stop by and offer a “thank you” to these special guests.

Free to the Public!  Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 12, 2019, when Downtown Clinton’s largest annual event will take place — the Annual Court Square Street Fair and Barbecue Cook-Off. This year marks the 31st year of the event, and thanks to our growing constellation of partners, this year’s event will be the biggest and best yet! 

  • Barbecue Cook-Off –Hogs will be delivered the night before and teams will spend the night preparing and cooking for the day’s competition
  • Arts Activities — the Sampson County Arts Council will host a variety of arts activities in the park neighboring the “Milling Around” art installation.
  • Car Show — the Ol’ Lightning Rods Antique Car Show will be held at the Clinton City Market on Lisbon Street. Participants may register their cars until Noon at the City Market on the day of the event. Oldies 1170 AM will be broadcasting live from the car show with Bob Stroud and the Boogies Shoes Network.
  • Museum Day — The Sampson County History Museum, located on Lisbon Street, will offer a variety of free demonstrations and exhibits to fair-goers from 10 am until 3 pm.
  • Live Music —  There will be live local music on the square at the intersection of College and Main Streets.

If you’ve seen TOO MUCH SYLVIA, you know…if you haven’t, take the time to come out and enjoy what promises to be a special night for Clinton’s Alive After Five Summer Concert Series.  It’s a fun-filled evening of songs from Beach & Motown, to Disco ’70s & ’80s R&R, a touch of Country mixed in with a few of today’s favorites and presented with personality and interactive entertainment.   “Special Guests” occasionally include, ZZ Topp, The Jersey Boys, PitBull and more…it’s energetic show featuring Too Much Sylvia’s four lead vocalists and satisfying harmonies.

Since 2014, TOO MUCH SYLVIA has received FIVE of the coveted Cammy Awards presented by the Carolina Beach Music Association, including 2 for Song of the Year.

Held on the third Saturday of October.  This year October 19, 2019, from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, the Old Sorghum Festival, gives everyone a chance to experience a part of the past and the tradition of sorghum cooking. Each year they work hard to produce gallons of  Sorghum syrup for attendees to taste. The Old Sorghum Festival is fun all day with craft and food vendors such as barbeque sandwiches, hot dogs, funnel cakes, authentic Mexican food, and shaved ice. Visitors can also go to the old country store or the Old McDaniel School. The Old Sorghum Festival is sure to make you feel like you are in the 1900s.  The Old Sorghum Festival is held at the Old McDaniel School located at 11233 Boykin Bridge Rd., in Roseboro.

twiddle dee farms clinton nc

Join Twiddle Dee Farm located at 3352 Taylor’s Bridge Hwy, Clinton, NC, on Saturday, October 19th for a gathering to talk about new things happening at Twiddle Dee Farm,  including a tour of their new retail shop.

Music, dessert, coffee, sparkling juice or cider, and more provided.

5 pm – 8 pm, $15 per person.  Online advance registration required.


Celebrate Halloween at Hubb’s

From the littlest goblins to the oldest, everyone will love Halloween at Hubb’s!  On Saturday, Power’s Flying Services will thrill spectators with a ping-pong ball drop at 3 pm, with ages 12 and under eligible to collect the balls and hope to win a prize!  Tricks and treats will be available on the farm from 1 to 5 pm.  Ages 10 and under may register for a Halloween Costume Contest at 4 pm.

At sunset, Friday and Saturday, children 12 and under may board the Rocket Man Express, with the last ride at 8:15 pm. And while you’re here, don’t miss the chance to get lost in the “past dark” flashlight maze!  Sunday will feature a magic show at 4 pm.
